We are excited to offer this program to make donor eggs available at a more affordable price, helping more families achieve their fertility treatment goals. Because many women are delaying motherhood until later in life, we see many patients who are simply <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reproductivefacts.org\/news-and-publications\/patient-fact-sheets-and-booklets\/documents\/fact-sheets-and-info-booklets\/age-and-fertility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unable to conceive using their own eggs<\/a>. As women age, the number and quality of their eggs drastically decline. The <a href=\"\/find-an-egg-donor\/\">women<\/a> who participate in our shared donor egg program as donors provide young, high-quality eggs. They must also meet strict <a href=\"\/egg-donation\/egg-donor-qualifications\/\">qualifications<\/a> and go through a thorough screening process, which leads to high pregnancy rates and increase the chances of recipients having healthy babies.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z_bZgqT5sno?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Why Choose Our Shared Donor Egg Program?<\/h2>\n<p>At Santa Monica Fertility, we created our shared egg donor program to ensure the highest success rates possible. The live birth rate using a shared batch of donor eggs is approximately 70% per transfer &#8211; the same success rate seen by recipients in traditional, non-shared egg donation IVF cycles.<\/p>\n<p>We start the egg batch size with eight fresh donor eggs per patient for each shared cycle. This number helps to ensure that a sufficient number of fresh and frozen embryos will be available for transfer. Depending on the fertility goals of the intended parent\/s, the batch can also be increased.<\/p>\n<p>Because live birth rates using donor eggs at our clinic are very high, we transfer only one embryo per cycle (two if the prospective parent\/s wish for twins). The remaining embryos are frozen for future use, i.e. to try for a sibling.<\/p>\n<p>If a first embryo transfer doesn\u2019t lead to a live birth, a second transfer using a frozen embryo is included at no additional cost as part of the shared egg donation cycle fee &#8211; as long as frozen embryos are available.<\/p>\n<h2>Shared Egg Donor Program Costs<\/h2>\n<p>With this type of egg donation, more than one set of prospective parents share the eggs provided by a donor during a single shared egg donation cycle. This approach greatly reduces the expense for each recipient since costs are shared. For traditional non-shared donor egg IVF cycles, the overall cost is around $50,000 \u2013 $80,000. However, a fresh shared <a href=\"\/egg-donation\/the-egg-donation-process\/\">egg donor IVF cycle<\/a> is a more affordable egg donation treatment option, starting at approximately $29,800.<\/p>\n<p>These costs include donor agency fees, donor compensation, <a href=\"\/egg-donation\/egg-donor-medications\/\">donor medication<\/a>, donor screening, fertility monitoring, egg retrieval, all necessary laboratory procedures as well as embryo transfer. A shared egg donor program spreads the cost over more than one set of prospective parents while maintaining high pregnancy rates seen with traditional, non-shared egg donation.<\/p>\n<h2>A More Affordable Egg Donation Program with Frozen Donor Eggs<\/h2>\n<p>If our fresh shared egg donor program is still out of reach for financial reasons, the use of frozen donor eggs offers another, even more affordable egg donation option at approximately $20,700 per cycle.
